THE PROCESS
Step 1
Our cold processed soap begins with mixing a carefully selected variety of oils, butters, and fats with goat milk and sodium hydroxide (lye). The chemical process that occurs is called saponifcation. During this process, the ingredients are bonded together and turn into soap. Essential oils, natural colorants and any other natural additives are mixed with the milk/ lye/ oil combo then poured into molds to harden.
Step 2
After 24- 72 hours (typically) the soap is pulled from the molds and cut into bars. Bars are then left to cure for 4-6 weeks. This curing time allows for the sopanification process to fully occur, and allows the bars to harden so they last longer and you are able to enjoy all of their benefits.
